Willis Welt in Königsfeld – Willkommen im Eichhörnchenwald!

Ein Rascheln im Laub, ein buschiger Schwanz und ein flinkes Hüpfen von Ast zu Ast: Im Eichhörnchenwald in Königsfeld im Schwarzwald, dem Doniswald, gibt es für kleine und große Naturentdecker viel zu beobachten. Unser Eichhörnchen Willi lädt euch ein, seine Welt kennenzulernen!

Bei einem Familienausflug könnt ihr zuschauen, wie die Eichhörnchen klettern, Nüsse knabbern und kleine Vorräte verstecken. Manche kommen mit etwas Geduld sogar ganz nah. Bringt dafür gerne naturbelassene Hasel- oder Walnüsse mit, bitte keine Erdnüsse oder Mandeln.

Der Eingang liegt direkt am Rathaus und der Tourist-Info in Königsfeld. Dort findet ihr auch Parkplätze. Kommt vorbei und entdeckt Willis Welt!

Ihr möchtet den Eichhörnchen im Doniswald in Königsfeld etwas mitbringen? Mit dem richtigen Futter könnt ihr den kleinen Waldbewohnern etwas Gutes tun. Willi verrät euch, was in die Nusstasche gehört!

Diese Mitbringsel sind geeignet

Haselnüsse und Walnüsse: naturbelassen, ungesalzen und ungeröstet. Gerne mit Schale, für junge Eichhörnchen auch einige bereits geknackte Nüsse.
Sonnenblumenkerne: ungesalzen und ungewürzt.
Esskastanien (Maronen): frisch und ohne Zusätze. Bitte nicht mit Rosskastanien verwechseln.
Für euren Besuch sind Hasel- und Walnüsse die beste und einfachste Wahl. Prüft das Futter vorher: Es muss frisch, sauber und frei von Schimmel sein.

Das bleibt bitte zu Hause

Erdnüsse: Sie sind als Mitbringsel ungeeignet und können mit Schimmel belastet sein.
Mandeln, besonders Bittermandeln: Bittermandeln enthalten giftige Blausäure. Lasst deshalb bitte alle Mandeln zu Hause.
Gesalzene, gewürzte, gezuckerte oder geröstete Nüsse.
Brot, Kekse, Kuchen, Schokolade und andere Süßigkeiten.
Verschimmeltes, verdorbenes oder ranziges Futter.
Auch Studentenfutter ist ungeeignet, weil es häufig Erdnüsse oder Mandeln enthält.

Mit Geduld und Rücksicht füttern!
Bietet nur kleine Mengen an und lasst die Eichhörnchen von selbst näherkommen. Bitte nicht hinterherlaufen, anfassen oder festhalten. Kinder sollten beim Füttern von Erwachsenen begleitet werden.

Willi’s World – Information in English

A rustle in the leaves, a bushy tail and a quick leap from branch to branch: the Squirrel Forest in Königsfeld in the Black Forest, also known as Doniswald, is full of discoveries for nature explorers of all ages. Willi the squirrel invites you to get to know his world!

On a family outing, you can watch the squirrels climbing, nibbling nuts and hiding little food stores. With a little patience, some may even come quite close. You are welcome to bring plain, unsalted hazelnuts or walnuts – please leave peanuts and almonds at home.

The entrance is right next to Königsfeld Town Hall and the Tourist Information Center, where parking is also available. Come along and discover Willi’s world!

Would you like to bring a little treat for the squirrels in Doniswald, Königsfeld? Choosing the right food helps keep our little forest friends healthy. Willi shares what to pack in your nut bag!

Suitable treats to bring

Hazelnuts and walnuts: plain, unsalted and unroasted. Nuts in their shells are welcome, bring a few shelled nuts for young squirrels too.
Sunflower seeds: unsalted and unseasoned.
Sweet chestnuts: fresh and without any added ingredients. Please do not confuse them with horse chestnuts, also known as conkers.
For your visit, hazelnuts and walnuts are the best and simplest choice. Check the food before bringing it: it must be fresh, clean and free from mould.

Please leave these at home

Peanuts: unsuitable as a treat to bring and potentially contaminated with mould.
Almonds, especially bitter almonds: bitter almonds contain toxic compounds that release cyanide. To keep things simple and safe, please leave all almonds at home.
Salted, seasoned, sugared or roasted nuts.
Bread, biscuits, cake, chocolate and other sweets.
Mouldy, spoiled or rancid food.
Mixed nuts and trail mixes are unsuitable too, as they often contain peanuts or almonds.

Feed with patience and care!
Offer only small amounts and let the squirrels approach you in their own time. Please do not chase, touch or hold them. Children should be accompanied by an adult when feeding the squirrels.
